· Hello! My name is Clara, I'm from Arahal in Seville. I am currently studying Industrial Relations and Human Resources at the University of Seville. I'm in this exchange to meet other people and their cultures, interacting with other Europeans. My fear I have is to share private space with people who don’t speak my language and I don’t know if we could understand each other… But I’ll try to bring an open mind and desire to have fun!

· My name is Ana and I’m from Cádiz (Andalusia). I would like to participate in this cultural event in order to gain both personal and professional experience. I am very interested in meeting people from different countries as I think they can help me to know their culture as well as give me new ideas. I also hope to share my own ideas about the topic of the meeting with people from different cultures as well as give them information about my culture.

· My name is José Manuel Pastor Bermúdez and I´m 20 years old. I´m form Arahal, a little city near Seville, my Spanish mates come from there too. I live in a house with my mother, my brother and my sister. At the moment I´m an architecture student in the Universidad de Sevilla, and the next year I´m going to do my fourth course there. Going to “Put on your walking shoes... and take the next step” in Setubal I hope to meet a lot of people, who are coming from many different countries. I´d like to learn how are they, what do they think about environment, ecological things, for example, cities, food… and, where are we going to with all of the ambient science, of course. Finally, I know that sounds incredible, but I want to go to Portugal because I´ve never been there and I´d like to know how is our neighbor country.

A associação norueguesa Nuo vai substituir o International Research and Development Club da universidade de Ankara, Turquia, no intercâmbio europeu de jovens sobre o desenvolvimento da região de Setúbal intitulado Put on your walking shoes and take the next step.

Summary

The project Put on your walking shoes... and take the next step will be held in Setúbal, Portugal, during a period of 10 days in September 2010. This project will bring together 36 participants from 6 European countries.

Setúbal is the eighth largest district in Portugal and currently is the region with the highest propensity of development. While the world is experiencing a serious financial crisis, the portuguese Government has planned a strategic approach based on Setubal, with an unrivaled investment crucial to the development of the country.

Setubal is a region of great natural wealth and diversity, since it lies along the Atlantic ocean, is crossed by the river Sado and counts on both Arrábida mountain range and Grândola mountain range. For all those mentioned above, it´s essential to have attention to the environmental impact of this strategic plan.

The aim is to promote intercultural dialogue and good environmental practices by direct contact with nature and with the portuguese social and cultural identity, using tools of non-formal education, developing a new sense of active dialogue, stimulating the youth and the population for a sense of active citizenship.

The walks by those sites will be a key tool to implement this challenge, especially through activities such as: energizers, break the ice games, workshops and problem solving together. However, as the title suggests, will be given a community dimension to the project, in which young people can discuss their conclusions with the community and its entities.
